Welcome to PORTAL CUBED!

This is a free fan game which takes many of the testing elements, mechanics, and locations from Valve's Portal and Portal 2, and transitions them over to a 2.5D voxel world full of puzzles and platforming!

v0.1 ALPHA Release:

The initial alpha release of the game currently contains:

• 16 levels in three different areas of the facility:
  • Enrichment Centre
  • Overgrown Testing Track
  • Escape Backrooms
• Fully functional portals, lasers, light bridges, cubes, and more!
• Object collision and momentum physics
• 15+ testing elements ( and more on the way...)

Puzzle Chambers To Intrigue The Mind

Make your way through new 2D test chambers as you attempt to traverse the Aperture Science Facility, make new friends, and bake a cake! Navigating this 2D world however will require the skilful use of portals to evade traps, overcome obstacles, and solve puzzles as you encounter more and more mechanics to play around with in this semi-function physics engine.

All of this and more, also rendered in clean pixel art and voxel models! What are you waiting for, test subject? Let the science commence!

Roadmap

PORTAL CUBED is a WIP project which will slowly be completed over time. The finished state will consist of 5 sets of levels (3 of which are currently available in v0.1 Alpha). The planned roadmap for this development is thus as follows:

1. Release v0.1 Alpha which implements the game basics (current release)
2. Add Undergrown/Old Aperture levels
3. Add Clean Aperture levels
4. Implement Discord presence, quality-of-life features, bug fixes
5. Level editor???

PORTAL CUBED's soundtrack is comprised of royalty-free public-domain and CC BY-SA 4.0 tracks, all properly credited. However, we cannot guarantee that recordings of the game won't be incorrectly targeted by copyright-strike algorithms.

If you're concerned about this, we recommend setting the 'MUSIC' volume to 0% using the game's settings menu once you're inside a level.

Installation Instructions:

Download the Zip file above and extract it's contents to a folder location of your choice. Then run the Portal Cubed.exe executable to launch the game.

You may observe your anti-virus software try to prevent you from downloading/running this executable. Don't worry, this is simply because it hasn't encountered the file before.
